About this Role

Holy Family Catholic Primary School is looking to appoint a Level 3 Teaching Assistant Early Years Qualified - to work in our Wraparound Care Provision.  

Main Purpose of the Role

To provide high-quality care, supervision, and engaging activities for children attending before-school and after-school  wrap around care sessions. The post holder will support children’s wellbeing, learning, safety, and development while helping to lead activities.

Key Responsibilities

Childcare and Supervision

  • Provide a safe, caring, and stimulating environment for children.
  • Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities, meals, and free play.
  • Support children’s emotional, social, and physical development.
  • Promote positive behaviour using appropriate behaviour management strategies.
  • Ensure all safeguarding and child protection procedures are followed at all times.

Planning and Activities

  • Plan and deliver creative, inclusive, and age-appropriate activities.
  • Encourage participation, teamwork, and independence.
  • Adapt activities to meet the individual needs of children, including those with additional needs.
  • Support children with homework or quiet learning activities where required.

Health and Safety

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and secure environment.
  • Carry out daily risk assessments and report hazards promptly.
  • Administer first aid when necessary in line with policy.
  • Ensure food hygiene and allergy procedures are followed.

Teamwork

  • Work effectively as part of the wrap around care team.
  • Contribute ideas for improving the provision and activities.
  • Complete training sessions.

Communication

  • Build positive relationships with parents/carers, children, and school staff.
  • Share relevant information professionally and confidentially.
  • Maintain accurate records, registers, accident forms, and incident reports.
