About this Role

  • Permanent, 15 hours per week, Term Time Only plus 10 additional days

  • Salary NJC Scale Point 3, £24,796 per annum

The Academy Council of this high achieving and oversubscribed Catholic Voluntary Academy is looking to appoint two self-motivated, hardworking and enthusiastic cleaners to join their supportive and positive team.

The postholders will be responsible for cleaning designated areas within the school to ensure they are maintained to a clean and hygienic standard. Protective clothing will be provided.

What are we looking for?

The post holders will:

  • Have a positive and flexible approach, with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrate high personal standards and expectations.
  • Be responsible for maintaining a high standard of cleaning throughout the school during term time, ensuring the cleanliness of a designated area.
  • Carry out cleaning duties to a consistent standard, including wiping, mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, and cleaning toilets.
  • Comply with all Health and Safety requirements at all times, including the safe use and storage of cleaning materials in accordance with risk assessments.

The post includes a substantial amount of lifting, bending and stretching.

St. Mary’s is a popular and highly successful school situated on the North West fringe of Leeds, close to the Yorkshire Dales.  The school is part of the Bishop Wheeler Catholic Academy Trust which consists of 2 high schools and 14 primary schools.  The June 2019 Section 48 judged St Mary’s as an outstanding school and the February 2025 Ofsted inspection judged St Mary’s to be outstanding in all areas.
