We are seeking an ambitious and dedicated Assistant Headteacher – SENCO to join our senior leadership team and play a key role in leading our vision for inclusion, SEND and student wellbeing. This is an exciting opportunity to influence whole-school strategy, further enhance SEND provision, improve outcomes for all students, and contribute to our ongoing school improvement journey.

 Key responsibilities: 

  • Support the Headteacher in developing and implementing the vision and strategic direction of the Academy
  • Develop and embed strategies that support the Academy vision and help to improve all elements of teaching, learning and assessment
  • Ensure the Academy is always fully compliant in all areas of Safeguarding
  • Work collaboratively with staff, parents, and external agencies
  • Take a strategic lead in monitoring, evaluating, and developing the quality of Inclusion and SEND provision across the academy

·       Monitor progress of students including those with SEND and evaluate the effectiveness of teaching to guide future improvements.

Pay range: L1-L6: £51,771 - £58,569 

Full Time, Permanent. 

Qualifications and Skills: 

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • SENCO Qualification, previous experience as a SENCO or a commitment to undertake the NPQ SENCO qualification within 18 months
  • Degree or relevant qualification in education or a related field
  • Knowledge and understanding of how children learn and how to motivate them
  • Sound knowledge of SEND Code of Practice 2014
  • Excellent leadership, organisation, and strategic planning skills
