The successful candidate will play a key role in raising the progress and attainment of pupils within Nursery and Reception, working closely with EYFS teachers to create an engaging and inclusive learning environment. Higher-Level Teaching Assistant main responsibilities are:
To create and maintain a
stimulating, purposeful, nurturing and safe early years learning environment, ensuring
provision is well-resourced, engaging
and supports the development of prime and specific
areas of learning.
To plan, deliver and evaluate high-quality learning activities for nursery
and reception-aged children, in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage
(EYFS), working with and with support from the EYFS Lead, ensuring all children are engaged, supported and able to learn
through play and exploration.
To lead the day-to-day organisation and provision of groups, working closely
with the EYFS Lead, ensuring routines run smoothly and
that the environment promotes independence, curiosity and a love of learning.
To assess, monitor and track children’s progress in line with EYFS requirements,
in collaboration with the EYFS Lead,
using observations and assessment information to inform next steps and planning.
To provide clear feedback
to children through
high-quality interactions, questioning and modelling,
adapting provision to meet individual developmental needs.
To, promote positive behaviour and support children to develop social skills, independence and emotional regulation
To maintain accurate and up-to-date records of children’s progress, development and wellbeing in line with school policies and statutory EYFS requirements, with oversight from the EYFS Lead
To support the implementation of safeguarding, health and safety and welfare requirements, including intimate care, risk assessments and first aid where appropriate.
To work collaboratively with
teachers, teaching assistants and other professionals, under the guidance of the
EYFS Lead, directing support
staff within the EYFS provision to ensure high-quality learning
and care.
To contribute to the planning and delivery of a broad, balanced and stimulating early years curriculum, including indoor and outdoor provision, in partnership with the EYFS Lead.
To communicate effectively with parents and carers, building strong relationships and sharing information about children’s learning, development and wellbeing, liaising with the EYFS Lead where appropriate.
To contribute to wider school life, including transition arrangements, meetings, training and school events.
To undertake additional responsibilities as required, including contributing to whole-school priorities and early years development.
