We are currently seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, dedicated and hardworking Teaching Assistant to join our team at The Oaklands Primary School. Applicants should have at least NVQ Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
The Oaklands Primary School is a 2-form entry Primary school in Acock’s Green Birmingham. Our Ofsted report (March 2025) has identified many positives within our school including the school being “highly ambitious for all pupils to learn, experience, achieve and flourish”. The school provides an “exceptional education experience for all”, with an “aspirational curriculum” which is “meticulously planned and sequenced” and has “high expectations embedded across the curriculum”.
The successful applicant will be working with Year 2 pupils, who have additional needs. The role will also include working with small groups of pupils and carrying out all class Teaching Assistant duties. The successful candidate will have proven experience of working with children with SEND needs, from a primary setting. You will also have excellent communication skills with children, parents and professionals and a sound knowledge and understanding of effective teaching and learning.
As part of the Summit Learning Trust, you will have bespoke professional development opportunities and the chance to develop and further your career. You will also have the opportunity to work with colleagues from across schools, sharing resources and good practice.
If you would like to be part of our journey to excellence, we would love to hear from you.
We embrace and celebrate the diverse communities that make The Oaklands ‘who we are’. We believe that every child has the right to the highest possible standards in their education so that they are equipped with the skills they need to succeed in life. We are ambitious and aspirational for all our pupils and set high targets. We aim high because we know with the right opportunities, our pupils can do it.
We take great pride in developing a caring, creative and safe environment for our pupils and we are passionate about providing a rich and varied curriculum that inspires curiosity and enquiry.
Join us and you will be part of a fantastic team. We believe in working collaboratively, sharing ideas and supporting each other to achieve great things.
With a level 3 TA qualification as well as GCSE’s (or equivalent) in English and Maths at Grade C/5 or above/equivalent, you will have a real passion for supporting pupils with particular needs, as well as a desire to develop a pro-active and supportive culture throughout school.
Are you our newest recruit? Are you ready to really make a difference and join us on our journey?
