About this Role

We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Class Teacher to join St George’s C of E Academy Newtown, a vibrant, inclusive and ambitious primary school at the heart of a richly diverse community. The successful candidate will deliver high‑quality teaching within a broad, engaging and ambitious curriculum, with a clear commitment to ensuring that every child feels known, valued and supported to thrive academically, socially and spiritually. Children are at the heart of everything we do, and we are proud of their curiosity, enthusiasm and the care they show for one another.

Guided by our Christian vision that “everyone belongs, grows and shines, guided by God’s plan and rooted in Christian love”, the class teacher will embody and promote our values of Community, Hope, Integrity, Thankfulness, Forgiveness and Courage in daily practice. We are looking for a teacher who holds high expectations for all pupils, is deeply committed to inclusion and equality, and believes passionately in the potential of every child, regardless of background or circumstance. You will approach teaching with warmth, professionalism and integrity, and be eager to contribute positively to pupils’ personal development as well as their academic progress.

As part of our dedicated and caring staff team, you will work collaboratively with colleagues who share a strong moral purpose and a commitment to continuous improvement. We value teamwork, reflection and professional growth, and offer a supportive environment where staff are trusted, developed and encouraged to flourish. This is a particularly exciting time to join St George’s, as we continue to build our future together as a school community filled with warmth, ambition, laughter and purpose.
