About this Role

St James’ CofE Primary School has established a happy, warm and welcoming environment where pupils are encouraged to aim high and be the very best they can be.  We believe that the best education can be accessed through creativity and we aim to present an interesting curriculum that is broad and balanced to help pupils learn.

We are seeking a warm, enthusiastic and reliable After School Club Playworker to join our team, working three days a week on a fixed term basis.

This is an exciting opportunity to support children at the end of the school day, helping to deliver a safe, engaging and nurturing environment where pupils can learn, play and relax.

You will work under the direction of the After School Club Supervisor to:

  • Supervise children during a range of activities, including indoor and outdoor play.
  • Help prepare and serve healthy snacks.
  • Support children’s learning, development and wellbeing.
  • Set up and tidy away equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records.
  • Communicate effectively with parents.
  • Follow safeguarding procedures at all times.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Enjoys working with children and understands their needs.
  • Can supervise groups safely and positively.
  • Is friendly, patient and able to work as part of a team.
  • Is reliable, organised and committed to high standards.
  • Is willing to undertake relevant training.

We Offer

  • A supportive and welcoming school community.
  • A role where you can make a real difference to children’s lives.
