About this Role

Our school is proud to be part of Anthem, a multi-academy trust that creates ambitious and successful schools where every child thrives.

Lincoln Carlton Academy is a highly regarded and consistently oversubscribed primary school, balancing high expectations with a joyful and nurturing approach to education. Lincoln Carlton Academy offers a rich curriculum shaped by curiosity, creativity and character development, supported by strong relationships with families and the wider community, a well-established behaviour culture and a commitment to ensuring every child can flourish and succeed.

We are seeking a reliable and confident individual to provide short-term classroom cover in the absence of teaching staff. The successful candidate will supervise whole classes or groups of students, ensuring that learning continues in a calm and purposeful environment.

This role involves taking responsibility for a class, delivering pre-set work provided by teachers, maintaining good behaviour, and supporting students to remain engaged in their learning. While working independently, support from qualified teachers will always be available where needed.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervise students undertaking work set by teaching staff, in line with school policies
  • Maintain a positive and well-managed classroom environment, ensuring pupils remain on task
  • Deliver clear instructions for learning activities and respond to student queries where appropriate
  • Manage student behaviour effectively, using agreed school strategies and procedures
  • Deal with any immediate issues or emergencies in accordance with school policies
  • Collect and return completed work to the relevant teachers
  • Provide feedback on student engagement, behaviour, and any concerns following lessons
  • Support the safe use of classroom equipment and resources
  • Attend relevant meetings as required

Benefits

As part of Anthem Schools Trust, staff benefit from a supportive working environment and access to a range of employee benefits, including health and wellbeing support, professional development opportunities and financial benefits.

Safeguarding

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff, visitors and volunteers to share this commitment. All post holders are subject to an Enhanced DBS check, suitable references and other essential checks. Staff involved in recruitment and selection are trained in safer recruitment, and all staff and volunteers undertake child protection training.
