King Edward VI Handsworth Wood Girls’ Academy is seeking to appoint an ambitious, inspirational and dedicated Teacher of English to join our successful and supportive English Faculty. About the Role

As a Teacher of English, you will deliver engaging, challenging and well-structured lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and potentially KS5), ensuring all students make excellent progress. You will plan, assess and adapt teaching to meet the needs of all learners, contribute to curriculum development, and support the wider life of the Academy.

Key Responsibilities

  • ·       Assess, monitor and report on student progress effectively
  • ·       Promote high expectations of behaviour and achievement
  • ·       Contribute to curriculum planning and enrichment activities

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • ·       A good degree in English or a related subject
  • ·       Qualified Teacher Status (or working towards it)
  • ·       Experience of successful teaching at KS3 and KS4
  • ·       Strong subject knowledge and effective teaching strategies
  • ·       A proven track record of raising student attainment
  • ·       Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • ·       A commitment to high standards, inclusion and continuous professional development
