Teacher of Sociology with Social
Science
We are seeking an excellent Sociology with Social
Science teacher to join our welcoming and high performing team to help drive
forward further developments in the curriculum. The successful candidate
will be able to teach sociology at KS 4 and 5, with the ability/willingness to
teach other social science subjects.
The social science department achieves outstanding results year on year which are above the national average at both KS4 and 5. The social science subjects are very popular options across the school, and a good proportion of those students go on to study social science based degrees at university.
The Social Sciences faculty
aims to provide a broad and balanced curriculum offering both
vocational and academic courses that are inspiring, ambitious,
and inclusive of all students. Through the delivery of a
wide range of topics such as health, mental health, understanding the mind and
behaviour and human social relationships and institutions students are
encouraged to become independent, self-aware, critical thinkers who are aware
of the importance of recognising, accepting, and
celebrating diversity and equality for all. Through
discussion of topical issues and current events they will gain a confident
voice that leads to them develop insight and awareness of their place in
society where they can achieve personal and professional success.
