About this Role

Are you a confident, adaptable, and resilient individual looking to make a genuine impact in education? We are seeking a dedicated Cover Supervisor to join our vibrant school community.

As a Cover Supervisor, you are the captain of the classroom in the temporary absence of the regular teacher. Your primary mission is to maintain a constructive, focused learning environment, ensuring that students remain on task, motivated, and safe.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Classroom Management: Leading classrooms confidently, managing student behavior effectively, and upholding our school's values and behavior policies.

  • Facilitating Learning: Delivering pre-prepared lessons across a variety of subjects—no day is ever the same! (You don't need to be a subject expert; you just need the skills to guide the students through the work left for them).

  • Supporting Students: Answering questions, keeping pupils engaged, and providing a positive, encouraging presence.

  • Collaboration: Working closely with teaching staff and the cover team to ensure seamless transitions and accurate feedback on student progress.

Who You Are:

This role is perfect for someone looking to gain valuable classroom experience before pursuing a teaching career, or an experienced professional who thrives in a fast paced, student facing environment. You will need:

  • Exceptional communication skills and a natural ability to command respect.

  • A calm, patient demeanor and the flexibility to adapt to changing schedules at a moment's notice.

  • A passion for supporting the academic and personal growth of young people.

Three Spires Trust and its academies are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all staff and to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be subject to all necessary pre-employment checks, including: an enhanced DBS; Prohibition check; Section 128 direction check; Childcare Disqualification (where applicable); qualifications (where applicable); medical fitness; identity and right to work. All applicants will be required to provide two suitable references.
