About this Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a hands‑on Site Manager to join our friendly school community and take ownership of a site that truly matters.

We welcome applications from candidates who can demonstrate strong experience and a practical, hands-on approach. We’re interested in what you’ve achieved in practice. Real-world experience, practical skills, and a positive, proactive attitude matter most to us. If you can demonstrate the capability, enthusiasm, and drive to succeed in the role, we would be very keen to hear from you.

The Site Manager will take responsibility for the school’s premises, ensuring that buildings, grounds, facilities and compliance systems are safe, secure, well maintained, and fit for purpose. You will be responsible for supervising the site and cleaning team, co-ordinating statutory compliance activities, ensuring efficient delivery of maintenance and facilities services and supporting the smooth running of the school. This is more than a maintenance role; it’s a chance to be a key part of a school team that values safety, teamwork, and pride in our environment.

Alderman White School is a friendly, thriving and stimulating place to work and study. Our students are well-behaved and motivated.  We have excellent support from parents and the community, and a talented and positive staff team. We are ambitious for every student and provide high-quality pastoral care and support, as well as outstanding enrichment opportunities for our students and the local community.

Staff wellbeing and development is very important to us – we offer a strong sense of community, high quality staffroom facilities and a carefully tailored staff development programme, centralised behaviour system, a feedback policy which takes account of workload, and access to health services through the Schools Advisory Service. PPA time is above the statutory requirement and can be taken off site.

The school is conveniently located 5 minutes from Junction 25 of the M1, close to the A52, as well as tram and bus routes, in a suburban area close to Nottingham University.

Our membership of White Hills Park Trust, a small local Trust of diverse schools with a common ethos and values, provides excellent opportunities for further professional development and networking.
