About this Role

Do you have a natural talent for engaging children and supporting their learning? Are you enthusiastic, adaptable, and keen to make a difference? If so, we would love to hear from you.

In this varied and rewarding role, you will work flexibly across all age groups and abilities, supporting our teachers and helping to create a nurturing learning environment. Your work will include 1:1 support, leading small groups, and providing general classroom assistance. You will be supporting children with a broad range of needs—including SEN, behavioural and emotional needs—and encouraging the acceptance and inclusion of all pupils.

We are committed to helping you grow. As part of our team, you will have opportunities to develop your skills and build your career within the school, making a meaningful impact on our children’s learning.

This is a fixed-term role, starting as soon as possible and initially running until 31 August 2026. The position is 37 hours per week, term time only.

About Us

Christ the King Voluntary Academy, located in Arnold, Nottingham, is a successful secondary school rated Good by Ofsted. We are proud to be part of the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Multi-Academy Trust, which brings together 36 Catholic primary and secondary schools across Lincolnshire, Nottingham City, and Nottinghamshire.

You Will:

  • Be caring, supportive, and committed to helping students achieve excellent results.
  • Support teachers in enthusing and inspiring pupils.
  • Assist with planning, differentiation, and intervention strategies.
  • Promote student wellbeing by offering guidance and support.
  • Build positive, supportive relationships that help students feel valued and heard.
  • Support learning activities and help monitor their effectiveness.

What’s in It for You?

  • Competitive salary: £22,415 – £23,506 per annum (OLOL Band 3, NJC Points 6–9).
  • Generous Pension Scheme with employer contributions over 20%.
  • Excellent CPD opportunities tailored to your professional growth.
  • Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) offering emotional, financial and legal support for you and your family.
  • Staff benefits, including discounts and a Cycle-to-Work scheme.
  • A warm, supportive community with enthusiastic students and dedicated colleagues.
  • Term-time only working for improved work–life balance.

Visits to the school are warmly welcomed. We encourage you to get in touch if you would like to discuss the role or arrange a visit.

An Inclusive Community

You do not need to be Catholic to work in our Trust. We welcome applicants from all cultures, ethnicities, beliefs, and none—those of all faiths, the Catholic faith, and those without a faith who are supportive of our Catholic character and Christian ethos. Diversity enriches our school community, and we strive to ensure every member of staff feels they belong.

We are a Disability Confident Committed employer and welcome applications from people with disabilities or long-term health conditions.

Safeguarding

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and we expect all staff to share this commitment. Successful applicants will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check and other pre-employment checks, including online searches, in line with safer recruitment practices.
