Thameside Primary
School are seeking to appoint an experienced, enthusiastic and flexible Cover
Supervisor to support cover within the school. Thameside Primary School is a
part of Osborne Co-operative Academy Trust, our schools have previously
supported Cover Supervisors to complete their Teaching Training and progress to
teachers within their schools.
Key duties of the
role:
- Supervising classes
and supporting pupils
- Delivering cover work
set by the class teacher
- Providing feedback to
the classroom teacher on the pupil’s progress against lesson plans, conduct of
the lesson and keeping pupil related records
- Dealing with any
immediate problems or emergencies according to the school’s policies and
procedures
- Collecting any
completed work after the lesson and returning it to the appropriate teacher
- Provide additional
support to teachers in classrooms, to carry out administrative tasks when not
covering a class
- Acting as a role
model, setting high expectations of conduct and behaviour and adhering to the
schools behaviour management policy
The
successful candidate will have:
- The
ability to support pupils with learning, emotional and behavioural difficulties
- Excellent
written skills with the ability to multi-task
- Excellent
communication skills, with a positive and helpful attitude
- The ability to remain calm under pressure and remain positive
- The ability to follow
safeguarding
procedures and prioritise students’ welfare
