About this Role

We require a well-qualified and enthusiastic professional to lead our dedicated and hard working MFL team. This opportunity would suit experienced colleagues or colleagues looking for their first steps into leadership within Modern Foreign Languages.

At Arrow Vale, our vision is rooted in social justice. All staff are dedicated to creating a learning environment where every pupil can thrive, regardless of their background, prior knowledge, or additional needs. We’re looking for someone who shares this vision, who will prioritise the success of our pupils, and who is eager to have a meaningful impact on the lives of our young people. All pupils learn Spanish in Year 9 with our most able linguists also offered the opportunity to learn French too. Both languages are also offered at GCSE and A Level.

Our staff at all career stages are committed to their own development. We offer a highly valued programme of CPD opportunities and, through our Trust, offer a range of career-stage specific opportunities, including the following (led by expert Trust staff and highly regarded external consultants): Subject Leadership; Pastoral Leadership; Aspiring Lead Practitioner Programme; and various NPQ programmes. This is an incredible opportunity to put your career on the path you want it to take and work alongside a team of highly effective practitioners and who have lots of experience of coaching and mentoring.

This is an exciting time to join a highly motivated and successful team. As a school we achieved ‘Outstanding’ in all categories in 2014, 2018 and have maintained this standard in our most recent inspection in 2024 and combined with the collaborative ethos of staff and students, the Central Region Schools Trust is an innovative and highly rewarding place to teach.

Interested candidates who wish to have an informal conversation about this role are welcome to contact Tom Bayley, Assistant Principal.
