About this Role

Fixed Term Contract - 1 Year - Working Hours - 8.45am - 3.15pm

We are delighted to be expanding our SEND team and are looking for two proactive SEND Learning Support Assistants to join our hard-working and inclusive school. This is a deeply rewarding opportunity for someone committed to nurturing the 'whole child', ensuring every pupil receives the tailored support they need to achieve their full academic and social potential.

In this role, you will support teaching and learning within our bespoke curriculum, which is specifically designed for students who face significant barriers to learning. You will play a vital role in helping our pupils unlock education by finding creative ways to bring learning to life, covering both core subjects and vital life skills.

Additionally, you will have the opportunity to lead targeted interventions across the school. Knowledge or experience in running literacy, numeracy, or social skills-based interventions is highly desirable, though not essential, as full support and training will be provided for the right candidate.

We are seeking individuals who possess a strong understanding of child development and the learning needs of Children and Young People (CYP) who may have significant gaps in their academic and social development.

The successful candidate will:

  • Prioritise Connection: Understand that 'connection before correction' is the foundation of success, building warm, positive relationships that help pupils feel safe and ready to learn.
  • Combine Knowledge & SEND Understanding: Bring a strong toolkit of SEND strategies to provide the 'scaffolding' pupils need to master new skills.
  • Be a Team Player: Thrive in a collaborative environment and enjoy working as part of an expanding team, moving fluidly to wherever pupils need support most.
  • Show Initiative: Demonstrate the confidence to work independently and 'think on your feet' to adapt support in the moment.
  • Bring Positivity: Approach challenges with a resilient, 'can-do' attitude and a great sense of humour.
  • Communicate with Purpose: Use excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with colleagues, parents, and pupils.

 What can we offer you?

  • A positive, welcoming, and forward-thinking community where evidence-based methods are integrated into teaching and learning.
  • A comprehensive induction programme and coaching provision for all those new to the school.
  • A CPD package tailored to suit your specific stage of career development.
  • Cycle to work scheme as part of our sustainability strategy.
