About this Role

Teacher of Science (Physics Focus)

Full time position, but part time applications will be considered.

We are looking to appoint a motivated, enthusiastic and inspirational Teacher of Science, with a specific focus on teaching Physics at KS4 and KS5.  The successful candidate will be a passionate educator who has a strong background in Science and a commitment to high quality teaching and learning, and the ability to inspire students to develop their practical skills and science theory.

Science at Rushcliffe Spencer Academy is a thriving department of 19 specialist teachers with a proven record of excellent GCSE and A Level outcomes and strong post-16 uptake across all sciences. Our carefully sequenced curriculum is underpinned by our WATLAS ethos – Work And Think Like A Scientist, developing confident, articulate learners with deep scientific understanding. Teachers are supported to teach within their specialism at KS4 and KS5, working within a highly collaborative, supportive team with shared resources and high expectations. This is an ambitious department with a strong professional culture and a genuine commitment to evidence-informed practice.

The ideal candidate will be able to operate collaboratively within a dynamic and forward-thinking team who are focused on developing exciting and engaging learning experiences for students across the 11-18 age range, promoting Science during careers events and support students wishing to undertake STEM career pathways.  Teaching with dedication, enthusiasm and innovation is essential, and you will be supported by hard working and highly skilled departmental colleagues, and the wider school team.

Applications are welcomed from teachers at all career stages, and if you require any further information, please contact Sarah Benskin (Head of Faculty) on SBenskin@rushcliffespencer.org.uk
