Teacher of Science (Physics Focus)
Full time position, but part time applications will be
considered.
We are looking to appoint a motivated, enthusiastic and
inspirational Teacher of Science, with a specific focus on teaching Physics at
KS4 and KS5. The successful candidate
will be a passionate educator who has a strong background in Science and a
commitment to high quality teaching and learning, and the ability to inspire
students to develop their practical skills and science theory.
Science at Rushcliffe Spencer Academy is a thriving
department of 19 specialist teachers with a proven record of excellent GCSE and
A Level outcomes and strong post-16 uptake across all sciences. Our carefully
sequenced curriculum is underpinned by our WATLAS ethos – Work And Think Like A
Scientist, developing confident, articulate learners with deep scientific
understanding. Teachers are supported to teach within their specialism at KS4
and KS5, working within a highly collaborative, supportive team with shared
resources and high expectations. This is an ambitious department with a strong
professional culture and a genuine commitment to evidence-informed practice.
The ideal candidate will be able to operate collaboratively within
a dynamic and forward-thinking team who are focused on developing exciting and
engaging learning experiences for students across the 11-18 age range,
promoting Science during careers events and support students wishing to
undertake STEM career pathways. Teaching
with dedication, enthusiasm and innovation is essential, and you will be
supported by hard working and highly skilled departmental colleagues, and the
wider school team.
