About this Role

We are looking for an ambitious and dedicated female Physical Education teacher to join one of the highest performing schools in the country.

Physical Education is a vital and growing area within the Trust, offering students opportunities to develop physical competence, resilience, teamwork and leadership. PE plays a key role in promoting healthy lifestyles, mental wellbeing and lifelong participation in physical activity. Through a broad and inclusive curriculum, students are encouraged to challenge themselves, develop confidence, and experience success across a range of sports and activities. The subject makes a significant contribution to students’ personal development and cultural capital.

From September 2026, the Trust will launch the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IB DP), providing an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to contribute to the development of a rich and ambitious curriculum, including potential involvement in Sports, Exercise and Health Science. This represents a significant platform for professional growth, curriculum design, and collaboration within a forward-thinking educational environment.

The successful candidate will be energetic, well organised and committed to excellence in the classroom, and will play a key role in further developing Physical Education across the Trust. They will also contribute to our vibrant and wide-ranging extra-curricular programme, including fixtures, clubs, inter-house competitions and enrichment activities that promote participation, performance and a lifelong love of sport.

We welcome applications from ECTs as well as those who wish to train to teach. Trainee teachers at WMAT schools receive a comprehensive, structured training programme, delivered by highly trained mentors and bespoke to the individual trainee's needs. If you are keen to develop into an outstanding teacher, enjoy sharing best practice with a community of dedicated peers and have a firm commitment to getting the best outcomes possible for our students, then Wembley High and North Brent School are outstanding schools in which to train.

Wembley High has an established reputation for a strong focus on academic excellence. Over the last ten years we have consistently been one of the highest achieving non-denominational schools in the country. We provide a structured, disciplined working environment in which every student receives high quality teaching and achieves his or her full potential. In 2024, our Progress 8 Score (+1.46) represents the ambition which we hold as we continue to improve the life chances of all of our pupils.
