About Us
Wembley High Technology College is one of the highest performing schools in the country. Nationally, the achievement of our pupils is exceptional; in 2024, our Progress 8 score of +1.43 meant that our students on average achieved nearly one and a half grades higher than their peers nationally. This progress from Key Stage 2 to GCSE has a transformative impact on our pupils’ life chances and last year, over 60% of pupils leaving us went on to Russell Group universities to study a range of academic subjects.
The Computer Science Departments
‘Achievement for All’ is the ethos that underpins everything
we do across the WMAT, and the Computer Science department is uniquely
positioned to equip our students with the digital fluency, creativity and
problem-solving skills they need to thrive in an ever-changing technological
world. As Subject Leader, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic
direction of the department, including curriculum design, implementation,
impact evaluation and the development of a high-performing team of
practitioners.
We
are looking for a leader with a deep passion for Computer Science and digital
education—someone who can champion technological literacy across the school and
promote the cultural capital that comes from understanding, critiquing and
creating technology. The successful candidate will be an outstanding classroom
teacher with a proven track record of securing excellent outcomes for students.
They will be innovative in their approach to curriculum development, ambitious
in their vision for the subject, and committed to driving excellence in both
teaching and learning.
As
Subject Leader, you will cultivate a collaborative and disciplined team
culture, developing staff expertise and leadership capacity while maintaining
high expectations for consistency, rigour and ambition. You will model
adaptive, research-informed practice and support colleagues to do the same,
ensuring that students across Key Stages receive a rich, cohesive and
forward-thinking Computer Science education.
Through
the Training School Hub, leaders at all levels of the Trust benefit from
exceptional professional development, including fully-funded, DfE-accredited
NPQ programmes. These gold-standard qualifications empower our leaders to grow,
drive change and make a meaningful impact within their departments and across
the Trust. If you are excited by the prospect of shaping the next generation of
digital thinkers and innovators, and you enjoy working within a culture of high
aspiration and shared best practice, we would be delighted to hear from you.
