About this Role

We are recruiting for a 2 days per week High Level Teaching Assistant at Eastfield Academy, based in Northampton.

 About the role

We are seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic, and caring Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and supportive team.  This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting children's learning and development, working alongside talented colleagues who are committed to helping every child be their very best. 

Fixed term contract for 2026/27 academic year.

The role is 2 days per week from 8:30am to 3:30pm, term time only.  Actual days to be discussed at interview

·         Deliver high-quality learning activities and provide whole-class supervision when teachers are absent.

·         Support the delivery of engaging lessons that motivate and inspire pupils.

·         Promote high expectations for learning, behaviour, and achievement.

·         Support pupils with a range of needs, including SEND, EAL, and those requiring additional challenge.

·         Help pupils develop confidence, independence, and a love of learning.

·         Use effective behaviour management strategies to create a calm and productive learning environment.

·         Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to ensure all pupils make progress.

·         Build positive and professional relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues.

·         Work effectively as part of a collaborative and supportive team.

  • Demonstrates initiative, flexibility, and a positive attitude.
  • Has strong literacy, numeracy, and ICT skills.
  • Understands the importance of inclusion, safeguarding, and pupil wellbeing.
  • Enjoys working as part of a team and contributing to school life
  •  GCSE grade A*-C (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
  •  NVQ 3 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent qualification or experience.
  • ·         Understanding a variety of positive behaviour management.
