Help shape exceptional learning in English - sparking ideas, ambition and real progress.

We are looking for a Lead Practitioner in English who will strengthen classroom practice across the department and wider academy, model excellent teaching and support colleagues to grow with confidence. This role brings together expert pedagogy, purposeful coaching and a commitment to improving outcomes for all pupils. Working closely with teachers, leaders and support staff, you will help drive ambitious, inclusive and research‑informed practice that reflects our Trust values and makes a tangible difference to children and young people.


Summary of Key Responsibilities

  • Model consistently high‑quality teaching, producing resources and demonstrating practice that supports excellent learning.
  • Lead coaching, mentoring and training to develop colleagues’ teaching practice and support appraisal processes.
  • Use data to identify teaching and pupil needs, implementing targeted strategies to raise achievement.
  • Coordinate monitoring and evaluation activities, including observations, learning walks and work scrutinies, to inform improvement planning.
  • Research and share best practice, leading on high‑quality professional development across the academy and Trust.
