Cover Supervisor

Salary: Grade 6 (NJC SCP 13–17) Actual: £25,238.38 – £26,938.38
Contract: Fixed-term (Maternity Cover)
Working Pattern: 36 hours per week, Term Time + 5 days
Start Date: As soon as possible

About the Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will:

  • Supervise classes during teacher absence, ensuring pupils remain on task with the work set.
  • Maintain a purposeful, positive learning environment.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils and be a strong role model.
  • Promote inclusion, good behaviour, and high expectations.
  • Support the smooth running of the school by assisting with registration, behaviour recording, routine assessments, and classroom administration.
  • Work with colleagues, supply staff, and external agencies as needed.

This role is essential in helping us deliver consistent, high-quality learning for our students.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has good literacy and numeracy skills (GCSE or equivalent).
  • Can confidently manage a classroom setting.
  • Builds positive relationships with students and colleagues.
  • Has strong communication, organisation, and ICT skills.
  • Is adaptable, resilient, and committed to supporting young people.
