Our mission is to ensure every student β€” regardless of background β€” has the opportunity to achieve their full potential. We are proud to be a growing family of schools working together to deliver high-quality education and to create inclusive, thriving communities.

Armthorpe Academy, part of the Consilium Academies Trust, is an 11–16 secondary school located in Doncaster. We are committed to providing a broad, balanced, and enriching education that develops our students academically, socially, and emotionally.

We believe in nurturing the whole child and empowering our students to be Respectful, Responsible, Resilient, Proud, and Ambitious β€” values that underpin everything we do.

This is an exciting time to join our dedicated team and play a vital role in supporting our students as they strive for success.

The Role

We are seeking to appoint Exam Invigilators to join our professional and friendly exams team. This is a key role in ensuring the smooth and fair running of examinations, helping students perform at their best in a calm and supportive environment.

As an Exam Invigilator, you will work under the direction of the Exams Officer to uphold the integrity of the examination process in line with the Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ) regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and observe students during examinations to ensure JCQ regulations are followed.
  • Assist in preparing exam rooms and materials prior to examinations.
  • Distribute and collect exam papers securely and efficiently.
  • Ensure candidates are seated and identified correctly.
  • Provide clear instructions and manage exam conditions effectively.
  • Record and report any incidents, irregularities, or disruptions.
  • Support students in accessing arrangements where required (training provided).
  • Maintain confidentiality and security at all times.

About You

You do not need previous experience β€” full training will be provided β€” but you will need to demonstrate:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Reliability, punctuality, and a calm, professional manner.
  • The ability to work well as part of a team and follow procedures.
  • Confidence in managing groups of students.
  • Basic IT skills (email and mobile communication).
  • A flexible approach and availability during the main exam periods.

A background in education or experience working with young people would be an advantage but is not essential.

Why Join Us

  • Be part of a values-driven Trust committed to staff development and wellbeing.
  • Access to training and resources through our Centre for Professional Learning.
  • Join a collaborative, inclusive community that values diversity and personal growth.
  • Make a real difference in supporting young people during a pivotal stage of their education.
