About this Role

We are looking to recruit a friendly, helpful and welcoming person to join our highly efficient, professional and supportive reception and administration team at Westminster City School. As a Receptionist, you will be based in our main school office and be the first point of contact at school. You will therefore need to have strong communication skills and an excellent telephone manner. The role is part time, 3 days per week, 8am-4pm, term time only.

You will also undertake a wide range of key administrative duties to support the efficient day-to-day running of the school. This post is key to providing excellent service to our parents and carers, students and visitors, as well as other stakeholders. Key elements of your role will include the administration of free school meals and being a first aider, for which full training will be provided.

Applications from those with previous experience working on reception or in an education environment is welcome, but not essential. Full training will be given to the right candidate.

Westminster City School is a successful 11-18 boys’ Christian non-denominational comprehensive academy with a heavily oversubscribed, mixed sixth form. Ours is a vibrant learning community situated in the heart of central London with all the opportunities and advantages of an inner-city school. In May 2026, the school’s OFSTED inspection confirmed that the school was achieving a “strong standard” in the majority of areas in which it was inspected. We are restless in our ambition to be recognised as exceptional in all aspects of school life.

We believe in developing our staff and have an energetic and supportive staff team and an effective CPD programme. Candidates from a global majority heritage are encouraged to apply. The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff to share this commitment. The successful applicant will need to undertake an enhanced criminal record check via the DBS.

If you would like to discuss the role informally or would like to arrange an appointment to visit the school please email  l.ellens@wcsch.com (PA to Headteacher). You may also wish to visit our website www.wcsch.com to read more about the school.

We reserve the right to interview exceptional candidates before the deadline closes.

Start date ASAP.
