About Corby Technical School and the Role

Corby Technical School is looking for an exceptional Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our dedicated Inclusion Team and make a life-changing difference to some of our most vulnerable young people.

 This is far more than a traditional support role. It is an opportunity to work at the heart of our inclusive provision, helping students overcome significant barriers to learning, attendance and engagement, while empowering them to achieve success both in school and beyond.

 We are seeking a passionate, resilient and proactive practitioner who believes in the potential of every young person, regardless of their starting point or the challenges they face. You will play a leading role in supporting students with a range of additional needs, particularly those with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, helping them to build confidence, develop positive relationships and re-engage with learning.

 Working closely with teachers, families, pastoral teams and external agencies, you will help shape and deliver high-quality provision across our Connection Base and Success Centre. These specialist provisions are designed to support students who may be struggling with attendance, emotional regulation, behaviour for learning or wider barriers that impact their ability to access education successfully.

 As an HLTA, you will use your experience and creativity to design and deliver bespoke interventions, personalised learning programmes and targeted support that meet individual needs. Whether working one-to-one, with small groups or alongside colleagues in the classroom, you will be instrumental in helping students develop the skills, resilience and independence they need to thrive.

 This role would particularly suit someone with a strong interest in SEMH, restorative practice, behaviour support, youth work, mentoring or pastoral care. You will be confident working with students who may present with dysregulation, challenging behaviour or periods of non-engagement, remaining calm, consistent and solution-focused whilst maintaining high expectations and positive relationships.

Contract: Term time only, 37 hours per week

 Hours: 8.30am to 4.30pm Monday to Thursday, 8.30am to 4.00pm Friday
