The Parker E-ACT Academy is seeking to appoint an organised, calm and highly professional Examinations Officer to lead the effective running of all internal and external examinations.

This is a key role in the school. The successful candidate will be responsible for the planning, administration and delivery of examinations across the academy, ensuring full compliance with JCQ regulations and awarding body requirements. You will work closely with senior leaders, teaching staff, invigilators, pupils and families to make sure that examinations are managed smoothly, accurately and with the highest standards of care.

We are looking for someone who is meticulous, resilient and able to remain calm under pressure. You will need excellent administrative skills, strong attention to detail and the confidence to manage complex processes and deadlines. Experience of examinations administration in a school or college setting would be highly desirable.

Key responsibilities: 

  • To manage, operate, maintain and develop all procedures in relation to external and internal  examinations as specified in the agreed Examinations Procedure. 
  • Ensure entries and amendments are entered into the information management system and communicated to relevant boards.
  • Day to day preparation of examination rooms.
  • Liaise with SLT, Learning Leaders, Buildings Officer, exam boards and other parties in all  examination related matters.  Deal directly with students over problems concerning entries. 

 Pay range: NJC SCP 23-27 £33,391.93 - £37,063.35 (FTE: £34,434.00 - £38,220.00)

Full time, permanent and term time only (43 weeks per year)

Qualifications and Skills: 

  • Minimum 5 GCSEs grades 4-9 including Maths and English (or equivalent) 
  • Good understanding of current developments in secondary school curriculum and examination  systems 
  • In-depth knowledge of the qualifications system and how these contribute to the points scores used in league tables 
  • Additional qualification in statistics, data analysis or appropriate subject
