Making a lasting difference to young people through care and consistency.

We are seeking a thoughtful and proactive Pupil Support Officer to help create an environment where every student feels supported, understood and able to succeed. Working as part of a close-knit pastoral team, the role focuses on breaking down barriers to learning by strengthening relationships, promoting positive behaviour and ensuring effective safeguarding. It combines direct work with students with partnership working across staff, families and external services. This is an opportunity for someone who is motivated by purpose, values collaboration and brings both empathy and clarity to supporting young people to engage fully in school life.

 Summary of Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day pastoral support, responding to wellbeing, attendance and behavioural needs of students
  • Safeguard pupils, maintaining accurate records and addressing concerns including bullying or discrimination
  • Build strong relationships with families, acting as a point of contact and coordinating support
  • Work with staff and external agencies to plan and deliver interventions for vulnerable learners
  • Support year team operations, including behaviour monitoring, restorative work and student supervision
