We are looking for an excellent Teaching Assistant to work alongside our Primary Team. Cromwell Community College is an established Academy and the development of the primary phase has created the first all through school in Cambridge. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside teachers in the classroom, support all pupils and be instrumental in working with the wider team to develop the ethos and culture of the primary phase.

 About us:

We have a vibrant learning community enabling students to flourish academically and socially.  Our central ethos of care, respect for the needs of others, courtesy and a warm community feel provides an atmosphere where our students can make the very best of their talents to achieve success and are inspired to fulfil their potential.

We are a popular, oversubscribed and successful school, currently undergoing a large expansion of the secondary phase by 1FE, but we are also the first all-through (4-18) school in Cambridgeshire. It is imperative that we ensure our pupils access a curriculum, which is relevant and ambitious throughout their journey at Cromwell.

 The Ideal Candidate:

You will need to be well organised, able to work in a team and also able to work on your own initiative. We are looking for somebody who has some experience of working with primary pupils.

 Key responsibilities:

  • Provide support for pupils by assisting with learning activities, implementing support plans, and supervising groups or individuals, including those with special educational needs.
  • Assist the class teacher with planning, preparing the classroom, maintaining records, and contributing to the development of behaviour management strategies.
  • Promote a safe and supportive learning environment by ensuring pupils' physical, emotional, and social needs are met, and encouraging independent learning.
  • Ensure safeguarding and child protection by following all relevant procedures, reporting concerns, and promoting a safe environment for all children.

 Why Join Us?

This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of students and to work in a forward-thinking academy with a commitment to inclusion and development. You will be part of a supportive and collaborative team, with opportunities for personal and professional growth.
