About this Role
Moorcroft
School is looking for enthusiastic, caring, and reliable staff to support
children and young people with special educational needs and complex
learning disabilities during our Holiday Club provision.
Dates
Required:
- Up to 2 weeks during the Summer Holidays
- Up to 1 week during the Easter Holidays
- Selected Saturday activity sessions
- Selected Half-term activity days throughout the
year
Key
Responsibilities
- Support children and young people to participate in a
range of fun and engaging activities.
- Promote independence, wellbeing, and social
interaction.
- Provide personal care where required.
- Ensure children are safe, happy, and supported
throughout activities.
- Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and behaviour
support procedures.
Requirements
- Experience working with children or young people with SEND
and complex needs.
- Understanding of autism, communication difficulties,
sensory needs, and challenging behaviour.
- Ability to build positive and trusting relationships
with children and families.
- A caring, patient, and flexible approach.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
Desirable
- Experience of supporting children with profound and
multiple learning disabilities (PMLD).
- First Aid, Moving and Handling, or Positive Behaviour
Support training.
- Experience with alternative and augmentative
communication methods.
