Grove Park Primary school is seeking a dedicated and proactive Caretaker to join our well-trained Site team.
This role is essential to maintaining high standards of cleanliness, maintenance, tidiness, and safety throughout our school site. Primarily based at Grove Park Primary School, but you may also be required to support across our other trust schools.
This post is part-time 20 hours a week, to be predominately worked over 2 days (Monday and Friday) for 52 weeks a year. Initially hours of work will be 7.00am-6.00pm, although flexibility will be required.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Ensuring the health and safety compliance of the school site.
- Maintaining site security and safeguarding pupils, staff, and visitors.
- Managing / undertaking planned and unplanned maintenance tasks.
- Responding to unforeseen issues to maintain a safe school environment.
This position is physical in nature and includes working outside and may involve lifting / moving furniture and equipment and you will need to be hardworking, skilled, dependable and self-motivated with a good range of practical skills.
You will need to be competent at DIY tasks and be able to work both on your own initiative and under the guidance of others.
Ideally the successful candidate will have a good trades background, and be able to work with some flexibility, to meet the needs of the staff and maintenance schedule. Any general plumbing, electrical and / or carpentry skills would also be an advantage.
