We are seeking a committed and
compassionate Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL) to join our
safeguarding team. The successful candidate will play a key role in promoting
the welfare and safety of children and young people, supporting the Designated
Safeguarding Lead (DSL) in managing safeguarding concerns, and ensuring that
safeguarding procedures are followed effectively across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Designated
Safeguarding Lead (DSL) in managing and responding to safeguarding
concerns.
- Act as a point of contact for
staff with safeguarding concerns about pupils.
- Assist with referrals to external
agencies such as social care and safeguarding partners.
- Maintain accurate, confidential
safeguarding records.
- Support staff training and
awareness around safeguarding and child protection.
- Promote a culture where
safeguarding and the welfare of children is everyone’s responsibility.
- Contribute to safeguarding audits,
policies, and procedures.
- Deputise for the DSL when
required.
The ideal candidate will have:
- 5 GCSEs grade 9-4 (A* - C), including English and Math’s.
- A safeguarding qualification (desirable)
- Experience working with children
or young people in an education or safeguarding setting.
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding
and child protection procedures.
- Excellent communication and
interpersonal skills.
- The ability to handle sensitive
information with discretion and professionalism.
- Strong organisational and
record-keeping skills.
- Relevant safeguarding training or
a willingness to undertake further training.
