About this Role

We are looking to recruit one Level 1A Teaching Assistant on a temporary contract to join the existing team in our Supportive Skills Department.  

The purpose of the role is to offer classroom and individual support through strong, empathetic and confident communication.  The ability to communicate effectively in Urdu is essential. The hours will be 25 per week, Monday to Friday 9 a.m – 3 p.m with a 1 hour unpaid lunch during term time only. Salary commences at £15,745 to £15,992 per annum, equivalent to £24,413 to £24,796 FTE .   

Sir Harry Smith Community College is an 11-18 Academy, proud of its traditional values and innovative approaches to Teaching and Learning and its standards of discipline and respect. The College serves the market town of Whittlesey, seven miles outside of Peterborough in Cambridgeshire.   The College is part of the Aspire Learning Trust working together with Park Lane and New Road Primary Schools, also in Whittlesey, to help every child achieve their full potential, to prepare them for their next educational steps, to teach them kindness and respect for all and to equip them to play a full satisfying role in society.
