We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and inspirational Teacher of Science on a permanent contract to start in September 2026. The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic and inspirational classroom practitioner to deliver Science at Key Stage 3 and 4 and ideally, but not essential, at Key Stage 5. We welcome applications from both experienced teachers and ECTs and can offer excellent professional development, guidance and support. The TLR responsibilities will be discussed at interview.

  The successful candidate will have: 

• An excellent track record of raising attainment;

• Proven ability and enthusiasm to motivate students and staff; 

• The ability to support and raise the expectations and aspirations of students of all abilities; 

• A desire to share experiences and good practice with colleagues. 

Sir Harry Smith Community College is an 11-18 Academy, proud of its traditional values and innovative approaches to Teaching and Learning and its standards of discipline and respect. The College serves the market town of Whittlesey, seven miles outside of Peterborough in Cambridgeshire. The College is part of the Aspire Learning Trust working together with Park Lane and New Road Primary Schools, also in Whittlesey, to help every child achieve their full potential, to prepare them for their next educational steps, to teach them kindness and respect for all and to equip them to play a full satisfying role in society.
