An exciting opportunity has
arisen at our oversubscribed and rated "good" academy for
students from 11 to 19 years of age, for a Level 2 General Assistant Teacher to
work as part of our Specialised Learning Faculty. We are looking for an
individual who can support, motivate and inspire students who need particular
help to overcome barriers to learning in a mainstream educational setting. You
will need to be a team player but also be able to work independently, show
great flexibility, creativity and have good communication skills. You will also
need to have a level 2 qualification in English and Mathematics and be able to
demonstrate an intermediate knowledge if ICT.
You will collaborate with
teachers in planning and delivering programs of teaching and learning
activities for classes, groups or individuals. The primary focus is to
undertake educational activities with individuals, groups and whole classes
within a framework agreed with and under the overall direction and supervision
of a qualified teacher. You will support in homework club one day a week
offering one to one support with students to achieve high standards of home
learning.
This role will start as soon as possible and
will be subject to a 6 month probationary period. The salary for this role is
H3, for 31.33 hours per week, 38 weeks per annum, term time only. There may be
a requirement to work some additional inset days by mutual agreement. These
would be paid as extra hours. Working hours are 8.25-3.15 daily, with 1 day
until 4.30pm.
