About this Role

The Wensum Trust is seeking to appoint a highly motivated and conscientious colleague to join our sixth form team at Hellesdon High School as Head of Year.

At Hellesdon High School we are committed to evidence-informed classroom practice and a knowledge rich curriculum in every subject. We believe that empowering students with knowledge is the best way to help all our young people to become creative, well-round, successful life-long learners.

We care about bringing together the most able people, to help us achieve our vision of providing a rounded education for children, quality support for their families and opportunities to enrich our communities.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly motivated and driven individual. You must possess the skills, determination and passion to make a significant difference to the lives of our students. We are looking for a passionate and conscientious Head of Year to work in our school, with the ability to work as part of a team as well as the capacity to use initiative. The job profile will include supporting the personal development and education of children and maintaining the school’s behaviour and wellbeing support system.  Candidates should have knowledge and understanding of how to engage and motivate children and of some of the barriers to learning which may affect our students. Full training will be provided to the successful candidate.

As part of The Wensum Trust, we believe that our shared duty is to help every child to develop into high achieving, confident, healthy, caring and resilient members of their family and community. We want our schools to be healthy environments where both children and staff can develop and where strong, positive relationships are key. Our school, therefore, practises a relational approach with children, our families and our communities. We are particularly interested in working with people who share Our Qualities; who will work effectively and flexibly as part of a team.

Being a part of The Wensum Trust’s family of schools offers employees unique experiences to work alongside our strategic partners and to collaborate with a wider network of staff. We believe in investing in employees as individuals, by providing training opportunities that help to develop both existing and new skill sets, to encourage career progression at all levels.

We care about bringing together the most able people, to help us achieve our vision of providing a rounded education for children, quality support for their families and opportunities to enrich our communities.
