Faringdon Community College is part of Cambrian Learning Trust, and the successful candidate will have a key role in embracing and achieving the Trust’s aims.  

The successful applicant will be expected to: 

  • Work with the Headteacher, Governing Body and others to develop the school’s vision, establish and maintain a culture and ethos that promotes effective collaboration, excellence, equality and high expectations of all students and staff 

  • Contribute fully to effective leadership of the school leading to improved standards of all aspects of the school’s work 

  • Support the Headteacher and ensure the smooth day-to-day organisation and operation of the school. 

  • Provide leadership of, and take accountability for, designated areas of the school’s work leading to measurable improvement 

  • Through strategic leadership continue the drive improvements in student outcomes and experiences by strengthening attendance, delivering high quality pastoral care, and ensuring every student is truly known and supported. This role will champion a robust safeguarding culture and uphold the highest standards of behaviour and expectations across our school community. 

  • Lead, manage and develop the pastoral team clearly communicating expectations and providing clarity to policies and procedures to ensure that there are high standards and a consistency of approach across the school. 

  • Undertake any professional duties the Headteacher reasonably delegates.
