About this Role

We are seeking to appoint a motivated, enthusiastic, and passionate Teacher of Music, who can inspire students of all ages and abilities to join our values-based school set in the heart of a picturesque Oxfordshire market town.  The successful applicant will be passionate about their subject and will have the ability to teach Music to KS3, KS4 and KS5 students.

Head of Department for Music

Candidates must be driven, proactive and committed to the success of the department, with the progress and wellbeing of pupils at the heart of this. They will need to demonstrate a growth mindset and emotional intelligence. The successful applicant will be highly organised and enthusiastic about their subject with the ability to lead their team  by example, assisting colleagues to implement school policies. The department leader will have the presence, experience and vision to further develop this successful department. An excellent knowledge of current issues and educational developments will be required.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leadership of a team of dedicated teachers of Music.
  • Responsibility for developing and improving the Quality of Education delivered within Music at Faringdon Community College
  • Responsibility for working with the Music team and Senior Leadership Team to put in place effective strategies to maintain and improve outcomes for students in languages.
