Alfriston School is a dedicated Special Educational Needs (SEN) school catering to pupils aged 11-18 years with Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) and a range of additional needs including speech and language difficulties.

We are looking for passionate and flexible Supply Teachers to join our dynamic and supportive team to cover short-term and long-term absences across key stages. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of our learners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • ·       Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons tailored to pupils with MLD and additional needs
  • ·       Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policy, using positive behaviour strategies
  • ·       Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and support staff to ensure each child receives personalised support
  • ·       Maintain accurate records of student progress and development
  • ·       Foster a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment
  • ·       Adapt quickly to different classroom settings and curriculum levels
  • ·       Uphold safeguarding policies and contribute to the well-being of all pupils

The Ideal Candidates Will Have:

  • ·       Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • ·       Experience teaching pupils with SEN
  • ·       Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • ·       A nurturing, patient, and resilient approach
