We are looking for a Residential Childcare Officer to join our team in a Special Educational Needs (SEN) school, providing high-quality care and support to children and young people with additional needs in a residential setting. This role is essential in ensuring the safety, wellbeing, and development of our students by creating a nurturing and structured environment that supports their education, independence, and personal growth. You will work closely with students, staff, and families to promote a safe, stimulating, and inclusive residential experience, in line with safeguarding policies and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • ·       Provide high-quality care and support to children and young people in a residential setting.
  • ·       Build positive, trusting relationships with young people, promoting their confidence and independence.
  • ·       Support the emotional, physical, and mental wellbeing of children, helping them overcome challenges.
  • ·       Assist with daily activities, including meals, education, leisure, and personal development.

What We’re Looking For

  • ·       Experience working with children and young people, preferably in a residential or social care setting.
  • ·       A compassionate, patient, and resilient approach.
  • ·       Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • ·       A relevant qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare or equivalent) or a willingness to work towards one.
