Vacancy for Football Coach

Salary: UQTS1

Hours: 0.4 Football Coaching & 0.6 Cover Supervisor 

We have an exciting opportunity to join Stratton School  as a Football Coach. To plan, lead and deliver an holistic, high-quality football development programme for KS5 students as part of the Stratton 6th form provision. Students experience in the programme should see them provided structured, developmental coaching and competitive opportunities, making use of the district, county and ESFA cup competitions, as well as any other fixtures to be arranged. The postholder will support students’ footballing development alongside their academic studies, creating and following an agreed implementation plan and fostering positive attitudes, discipline, and professionalism. 

Please note - we will consider applicants who are only interested in the hours for football coaching.

The opportunity:

               Plan and deliver 12 hours per fortnight of football coaching and competitive fixtures for Key Stage 5 students. 

    • Deliver high-quality, developmental coaching sessions in line with an agreed programme specification and curriculum intent. 

    • Design sessions that develop technical, tactical, physical, and psychological aspects of the game. 

    • Lead and manage teams during competitive fixtures, tournaments, and festivals. 

    • Monitor and record student progress, attendance, and engagement. 

    • Support player welfare, including safeguarding, health and safety, and risk assessments. 

      Supervise classes across KS3 & KS4 following a programme of study during short-term absences


The ideal candidate

  • UEFA C/Level 2 Football coach or other Relevant football coaching qualification.
  • Experience coaching young people at secondary or post-16 level. 
  • Strong understanding of player development principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and student welfare. 
  • Have a good educational background and working with young people.
