About this Role

The role

We are seeking a skilled, organised, and conscientious School Finance Officer to join a school that holds a caring ethos and a strong commitment to excellence in education.

The successful candidate will have proven experience in finance, administration, or school business support, with strong organisational skills and attention to detail. They will also have the ability to build positive relationships with staff, parents, and external providers while ensuring the smooth and efficient management of financial processes within the school. This role requires someone who is reliable, proactive, and committed to supporting the day-to-day operational and financial needs of the school while maintaining accuracy, confidentiality, and professionalism at all times.

The finance team is central to ensuring the effective running of the school, supporting leaders and staff by managing budgets, financial records, purchasing, and administrative systems efficiently and responsibly. Working closely with senior leaders and external agencies, the team plays a vital role in maintaining compliance, value for money, and high standards of financial practice across the school.

Finance staff work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders to provide consistent and professional support, ensuring that school resources are managed effectively to benefit students and the wider school community. Balancing a supportive and approachable manner with clear procedures and accountability, the team promotes efficiency, integrity, and a culture of responsibility where every member of staff contributes to the success of the school.

Our School

Shenfield High School is a standalone 11-18 Academy with a comprehensive ethos and commitment to high academic standards supported by a significant investment in pastoral care and wellbeing.

The school is conveniently located close to Shenfield mainline station on the line into London Liverpool Street and home to the eastern terminus of the new cross rail Elizabeth Line. The school’s location attracts outer fringe London allowance.
