About this Role

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and inspiring Teacher of Music here at Stanborough School. The department moved into a brand new purpose-built Music and Drama block in 2021, providing a range of specialist and state-of-the-art facilities in which to deliver an exciting and engaging curriculum to our students to enhance their music education.

Music is a highly regarded subject and has recently added a Musical Aptitude Test as part of the admission criterion. It would be expected that the successful candidate would contribute to the wonderful extra-curricular music concerts and events offered by the school throughout the year and share their passion for music with energy and enthusiasm.

This full time post would equally suit an experienced teacher or an early career teacher with strong subject knowledge for whom excellent induction and support is provided. For an informal discussion about the post or to arrange a visit prior to application please contact Govin Persand, Deputy Headteacher – gpersand@stanborough.herts.sch.uk

We were delighted to be awarded a ‘Good’ rating by Ofsted in March 2023, this recognises the hard work and progress made by all in the school.  Prospective candidates are encouraged to read the full report available on our website at https://stanborough.herts.sch.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/2023-OFSTED-Report.pdf

Further information is also available on our website: https://stanborough.herts.sch.uk/vacancies/staff-vacancies/

Closing date: 9am, Tuesday 19th May 2026

Interview date: Friday 22nd May 2026

Prospective candidates are encouraged to apply as soon as possible as we reserve the right to call candidates for interview and appoint before the closing date shown

Stanborough School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment.  All post holders are subject to safeguarding checks including references and a satisfactory enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Please note that this post is exempt from the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
