King’s Academy Bay House is seeking a committed and organised Assistant SENCo to support students with SEND and help ensure every learner can succeed.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting students with special educational needs and disabilities to thrive both academically and personally.

Working closely with the SENCo, The Link team and wider staff, the Assistant SENCo will support the coordination of SEND provision across the school. The role combines organisation, collaboration and direct work with students, ensuring that support is well planned, monitored and adapted so that learners can fully access the curriculum and make progress.

You will work with colleagues to develop inclusive approaches in the classroom, support staff with strategies to meet a range of needs and help ensure students receive the right support at the right time. The role also involves working closely with families and external professionals to ensure a coordinated approach to supporting young people.

In this role, you’ll:
Support the coordination of SEND provision across the school
Lead on EHCP reviews and applications
Work closely with students, families, and staff to remove barriers to learning
Help colleagues develop effective classroom strategies
Line manage members of the SEND team and deputise for the SENCo when needed
