About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and strategic SENCO to lead and develop our SEND provision, ensuring that all pupils receive the support they need to thrive. You will be responsible for shaping the strategic direction of SEND across the school, overseeing the implementation of the SEND policy, and ensuring a consistent, high-quality graduated approach to support.
Working closely with senior leaders, staff, parents, and external agencies, you will identify needs, coordinate provision, and monitor the impact of interventions to secure positive outcomes for pupils. You will play a key role in driving inclusive practice, supporting high-quality teaching, and removing barriers to learning.
The role includes leading the SEND department, managing and developing staff, and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, including EHCP processes, annual reviews, and exam access arrangements. You will also contribute to whole-school improvement by advising on SEND strategy, staff development, and inclusive classroom practice.
This is a pivotal leadership role, offering the opportunity to make a lasting difference to the lives and futures of young people.
About You
You are a passionate and knowledgeable SEND professional with a strong commitment to inclusion and improving outcomes for all learners. You bring experience of leading or coordinating SEND provision, with a clear understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and relevant legislation.
You are highly organised and analytical, with the ability to assess needs, evaluate provision, and implement effective, evidence-informed strategies. You have experience of working with EHCPs, managing reviews, and coordinating support in collaboration with staff, families, and external agencies.
A confident leader, you are skilled at managing and developing others, providing guidance to teaching staff and support teams, and fostering a culture of high expectations and accountability. You are an effective communicator who builds strong relationships and works collaboratively across the school community.
You are committed to high-quality teaching and learning, with the ability to support colleagues in adapting practice to meet diverse needs. You demonstrate integrity, resilience, and attention to detail, ensuring compliance, safeguarding, and the highest standards of care.
Above all, you are driven by a genuine desire to ensure that every pupil, regardless of need, is supported to achieve their full potential and experience success in school and beyond.
