Job title: Teacher of Girls PE 

Salary: MPS / UPS + London Fringe 

Hours: Full-time 

Responsible to: Subject Leader for PE

Contract: Fixed term for 1 year Sept 2026 to July 2027

Required for September 2026 (an October start date may be negotiable) we are seeking to appoint a well-qualified teacher of Physical Education to provide cover during a maternity leave. There may be an option to extend this contract but we cannot commit to that at this stage.

You will be required to teach across the age and ability range in a faculty that achieves excellent results and high standards.  A full range of enrichment clubs is offered and sports teams are fielded regularly for competitions at District and County level. Supporting, training and supervising these teams will be an integral part of the role.  We are looking for an enthusiastic and creative individual to join an outstanding and committed Health faculty which promotes “healthy minds in healthy bodies”.

Bishop’s Hatfield Girls’ School is heavily over-subscribed and has around 950 pupils on roll including the Sixth Form.  We are fully committed to our values of teamwork, respect, honesty, trust, kindness and ambition.  The school completed its most recent Ofsted inspection in December 2022 and was judged to continue to be Outstanding. We give high priority to staff development and the school's Admissions’ Code gives priority places to children of staff. Staff are able to apply for our Professional Development Award which provides bursary payments to help finance CPD that goes beyond the school’s usual training programme.
