About this Role

About Us

Furze Platt Senior School is a highly successful, inclusive mixed comprehensive school with a strong focus on student wellbeing, achievement, and support. We are looking a Behaviour Support Officer to join our team starting in January 2026. This exciting role will rotate between managing our internal isolation room, supporting  detentions, supporting the on-call rota and assisting with behaviour interventions to help students and staff across the school.

The Role

As a Behaviour Support Officer, you will play a key role in supporting students who need additional behavioural guidance and academic focus. You will manage the isolation room, providing students with a calm space to reflect and reset, and support the running of break time and daily after-school detentions. Additionally, you will work closely with teachers to respond to behavioural issues in classrooms and around the school, offering intervention and guidance to help maintain a positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing the isolation room and helping students reflect and reset to re-engage with learning.
  • Supporting students and staff during break time and daily after-school detentions, ensuring students complete work in a structured environment.
  • Responding to behavioural incidents in classrooms and across the school site as part of the SLT call-out system.
  • Conducting investigations into behavioural issues and reporting to the Senior Leadership Team (SLT).
  • Rotating between managing the isolation room, providing call-out support, and assisting with behaviour interventions.

About You:

We are looking for an individual with strong interpersonal skills, patience, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. You should have experience working with young people, preferably in an educational setting, and the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents. A commitment to supporting students’ academic and personal development is essential.

Why Join Us?

At Furze Platt, we offer a supportive and friendly working environment with access to professional development opportunities. Staff benefits include access to an on-site gym, a comprehensive employee assistance program, and free on-site parking.
