We are seeking to appoint an outstanding, energetic and innovative leader, working as an effective team player to set and secure the highest expectations and outcomes. The successful candidate will be creative, highly motivated and independently minded, with the capacity to enthuse and inspire young people and colleagues.

 

Heath Park is a highly successful outstanding school, committed to continuous improvement. We have successfully driven up standards across the school: Key Stage 4 and 5 outcomes place the school as one of the highest achieving, non-selective schools in the City.

 

The position of Learning Leader for the Art & Design suite of specialisms provides an exciting opportunity; one where there is a central responsibility for developing, directing learning and managing a highly successful and popular curriculum area. The Leader will be an excellent teacher and the key aspects of the role will include:

 

        Ensuring all learners achieve or exceed their potential

        Further develop quality first teaching

        Ensuring effective curriculum provision across all Key Stages

        Enhancing the breadth of provision in all key stages

        Sustaining and further developing a highly performing team through effective leadership and strategic direction

 

Art and Design, Three- Dimensional Design, Graphics, Photography and Textiles are taught successfully at both KS4 and 5 and we are looking to appoint a leader who has a good understanding of the curriculum pathways within these specialist areas. This will be in addition to recognising the crucial role Art & Design plays within the Key Stage 3 curriculum.

 

We are committed to continuing to develop external links and contacts, including working with primary feeders school to enhance the curriculum provision and share excellent practice.

 

The remuneration of this post is a School Based Allowance, with the potential for further leadership development for an exceptional candidate.

CHILDCARE (DISQUALIFCATION) (Applicable to Primary aged Schools)

In accordance with the Childcare Act 2006 and the Childcare (Disqualification) Regulation 2009 the Governors are required to obtain an additional staff disqualification declaration for employees within settings providing care for early years childcare (this covers the age range from birth until 1st September following a child’s fifth birthday i.e. up to and including reception age) or later years childcare (this covers children above reception age but who have not attained the age of 8) in nursery, primary or secondary school educational settings, or if when directly concerned with the management of such childcare related establishments. This declaration is to confirm that you are not disqualified ‘by association’ to anyone currently residing within your household who is disqualified under the Childcare (Disqualification) Regulation 2009

 

 

ELIGIBILITY TO WORK IN THE UK
