About this Role

Science Teacher – King’s Leadership Academy Liverpool

Part of the Great Schools Trust

This is a fantastic opportunity for an outstanding classroom practitioner who thrives on student success, is willing to go the extra mile, and wants to be part of a supportive, ambitious team.

King’s Leadership Academy Liverpool, a proud member of the Great Schools Trust, is seeking an inspirational and dedicated Science Teacher who is passionate about their subject and committed to shaping the futures of young people. You’ll be joining a vibrant, diverse, and forward-thinking school where high expectations and a strong sense of community are at the heart of everything we do.

Why Join Us?

Transformational Leadership: Our Principal, Mr. Scott Cordon, was recently named Outstanding Head Teacher of the Year in the North of England this April. His exceptional leadership has been nationally recognised for its profound impact on pupils, staff, and the wider community.

National Recognition: King’s Liverpool was ranked the 26th most improved secondary school in the UK for pupil progress—a testament to our relentless focus on raising standards, improving culture, and delivering an aspirational education for all.

Part of a Leading Trust: The Great Schools Trust is currently ranked No. 2 nationally for most improved multi-academy trust performance. We are a mission-driven organisation where academic excellence, character development, and student success go hand-in-hand.

At King’s Liverpool, community isn’t just a buzzword – it’s our culture. According to our latest anonymous Edurio Staff Survey:

  • 80% of staff feel respected by our leadership - 15% higher than the National Average (NA).
  • 70% of staff feel comfortable voicing work-related concerns with leadership - NA 56%
  • 82% of our whole staff would highly recommend our school as a good place to work! - NA 67%

Our staff know they are valued – and it shows. As one colleague put it: “Staff are warm, open and friendly. I can knock on my Head’s door without a meeting set and always feel welcomed in.” Others described “a real sense of community,” and said “the students make it clear they appreciate what we do.”

This is ideal for a strong classroom practitioner who:

  • Delights in student success
  • Is willing to go the extra mile
  • Values working within a collaborative and ambitious team

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach Science across applicable Key Stages with creativity and challenge.
  • Adapt and personalise lessons to meet individual needs and close gaps in understanding.
  • Promote a respectful, safe, and inquisitive learning environment.
  • Track and assess student progress, offering responsive support where needed.
  • Work collaboratively to enhance curriculum materials and pedagogy.
  • Engage in continual professional development, including trust-wide CPD programmes.
