We are looking to appoint a Curriculum Leader for MFL who has excellent leadership and management skills, has a passion for teaching and learning and is an excellent practitioner committed to raising achievement for young people. 

Kingsbury Green Academy, which is part of the successful Ascend Learning Trust is an ambitious, forward- thinking 11-18 Academy situated in a beautiful location on the outskirts of Calne in Wiltshire. 

We are looking for a colleague who can contribute to ensuring excellent standards in all areas of school life and can form high quality relationships with all staff and students.  Above all, we want to hear from MFL specialists who believe that all children have the right to learn a new language and in doing so, develop as human beings. 

We are looking to appoint a Curriculum Leader for MFL who will:

·         Be responsible for leading the MFL department through the next stage of school development

·         Have high expectations of the achievement of all students

·         Be able to teach to A level and at least one other language to KS3

·         Be able to inspire commitment and enthusiasm for MFL across the school

·         Embrace new technologies, enhancing the learning of MFL

·         Lead and develop an extended and extensive MFL curriculum

·         Promote the continuity and progression for the learning of all students

·         Have a proven track record as an effective teacher

·         Bring energy, enthusiasm and new ideas to the classroom, department and school

·         Have strong leadership, management and people skills

·         Able to work effectively as a team member and team leader

·         Have a sophisticated understanding of inclusive practice and provision for raising levels of achievement for all students and groups of students
