Teacher of History (Maternity Cover)
Start date: October 2026
Contract: Fixed-term maternity cover
Working pattern: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday morning and Friday
We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Teacher of
History to join our Humanities department on a part-time (0.7 FTE) basis to
cover maternity leave from October. This is an excellent opportunity for a
History specialist to deliver high-quality teaching within a supportive and
collaborative team.
The successful candidate will plan and deliver engaging,
well-structured lessons, primarily at Key Stages 3 and 4. The ability to teach Key
Stage 5 History is desirable and will depend on experience. You will use
effective assessment and feedback to support progress, maintain high
expectations for behaviour and achievement, and contribute positively to the
department’s work.
You will act as a positive role model, demonstrate a strong
commitment to safeguarding and student welfare, and engage professionally with
colleagues, parents and students. Qualified Teacher Status and a relevant
degree are essential, along with strong subject knowledge and effective
classroom practice.

Please note that we operate a probationary
period of 6 months across all jobs in the Trust (see attached policy for
further details). You will receive a comprehensive induction to support
you to successfully pass your probation
